The premature replacement of the original NTI Trinity Ti150 was largely a result of a lower quality installation. Poor annual boiler maintenance practices exasperated the issue over the years.
NTI Trinity Ti series boilers were a quality product as long as they were properly installed, set up and maintained over time. The Ti series boilers were discontinued yet parts support is available for a few more years.
There were visible signs of exhaust gas leakage into the cabinet and electrical areas of this boiler. Including into the living space of the home. In this case the composite exhaust adapter on the rear of this NY Thermal NTI Trinity Ti150 boiler had melted as a result of higher than normal operating temperatures than recommended for a condensing boiler.
This exhaust leakage, over time allowed the exhaust byproducts to enter the boiler cabinet causing corrosion and deterioration of the electrical components. This exhaust gas leakage is clearly evident and would have been noticed during the course of regular boiler service, maintenance and inspections.
